NEW iGPS Course Search

What's new?

  • Class Filters button.: Limit results by class meeting days/times, by mode of instruction (100% Online, In Person, etc), or to view only open courses.
  • Course filters: More intuitive ability to filter by attributes (general education categories, honors, etc), units (credits), level, and subject.

There's a difference between a course and a class? Yup!

  • A course can have many classes. The course itself is essentially the topic, or what you can expect to learn about in the class.
  • A class is an instance of the course that can vary by when & how it meets and by who teaches it.

Tips & good-to-knows

  • Browse the schedule of classes and plan your ideal schedule early, especially if you're taking popular classes. Don't miss out on the classes you really want or need by waiting too long!
  • Popular courses usually have lots of options for meeting times, but smaller classes have less flexibility. Plan your schedule around the course you need that has the fewest meeting time options.
  • Independent Study courses (where you develop the course description) do not appear in the Schedule of Classes and you cannot independently register for them. Instead, complete the Independent Study Petition & Registration form and return it to the Office of the Registrar; they will then register you for the course.
