What is a Student Advocate?
Sometimes life throws obstacles or barriers in your way that can prevent you from being successful in college and can be difficult to overcome on your own. The Student Advocate's role is to listen, provide support, and connect you to campus or community resources if needed.
Types of barriers might include:
- Financial Challenges
- Finding Employment
- Food or Clothing
IU East wants to help you in any way possible. The Student Advocate can give supportive guidance in almost any situation. If you have a barrier or problem not listed here, and are unsure where to go, contact Kristie Marcum in the Office of Student Success.
